Robert Louis Stevenson
illustrated by: Sterling Hundley
art director: Sheri Gee
commissioned by: The Folio Society

"A classic tale of heroism, piracy and adventure that has never been equalled – with an introduction by Michael Morpurgo.

The original illustrated edition of Treasure Island by NC Wyeth is considered one of the most highly regarded illustrated manuscripts of all time, and has been interpreted through countless media, including tv, the silver screen, comic books and children’s books."

I was recently tasked with the incredible and overwhelming task of illustrating the timeless Robert Louis Stevenson adventure novel Treasure Island for The Folio Society in London, England. The completed book is 256 pages, for which, I created  a frontispiece and 11 color illustrations, end papers, as well as a blocked cover and slipcase.

While in the midst of the assignment, I launched a global initiatve entitled Legendeer that focuses on experience as the catalyst of the creative process. The Legendeer assignments and observations tied in directly to several of the finished illustrations within the final edition. Creatives from all disciplines looking to develop personal voice, create intellectual property and to bring together their professional and personal lives are welcome to join.
